I just wanted to let everyone know that I'll be away for the next 3 weeks. I'm going to take Santiago and Yoda's books with me to work on, but no guarantees that I do them. I'm on vacation!
I'll still have email and internet access. BTW, Szaza, if you finish a book you can still send it to me, I'll just get it when I return.
Enjoy the Holidays All (if you celebrate them that is).

Finished!
Santiago's book— sorry I took so long! I'll send it to Chris tomorrow.
The theme is "locura," or crazy. This is the insanity of giving too much of one's self— sometimes you give and give and give until you have nothing left. It's not necessarily a bad thing, just painful sometimes.
Funny how my contributions to this exchange have so far all involved my insides or things coming out of me.

Beethoven's Doves
Here's my entry into Zaza's book. The scan doesn't quite capture the texture of the image. Hope you like it.
The inspiration came from a concert I went to recently. I saw a t-shirt that had a similar design and that just got me thinking. This is what came out some hours later.
Here's a song by The Swell Season and part of the inspiration of the this piece Falling Slowly

Not Lost, just late. Finally, I finished it.
I'm sorry to be late with this. I've been in a real bad slump lately. This didn't come out quite as I had hoped, but I'll have to be satisfied.
I still have to do the sign in page, but that is a much simpler drawing. The theme of my books is "lost objects". Recently my wedding ring was swallowed by the Atlantic ocean. As I was swimming, the ring just slipped off. I felt it happen, but I didn't see it. The water was clear, but my ring was gone. Swallowed by some plants that didn't exist.
So please add a drawing to my book. It should be something you lost that was important to you. Have fun. I've got to start to learn how to do that again. Chensio this book will be on it's way to you shortly.

A hand shake :-)
Great artists and Dear friends from 34 Group, sorry to be late, but I was working so distant from my "Molys" and brushes in a boring and "suicidal" Internet Project in my other activity...
Tomorrow I'll send my sketchbook to Santiago.
Thanks a lot

It's Time!!!!!!
Hey Awesome Artists!
It's time for Moly_x_34! Everyone has there books so get drawing, painting, collaging or whatever you do! If you have a theme that's great. If you don't want to have a theme, that's ok too. Today is July 18th, so let's plan to have our books done by August 18th.
I'm so excited to be collaborating with all of you. My book is going to have a theme (but I'm not telling what it is yet). I even know what my first drawing is going to be. If anyone has any questions feel free to email me.
So what are you waiting for? Get going...times ticking :)

Hey moly_x_34 Group!
I'm getting really excited (and scared) to start drawing in my book. I'm very happy to be working with all of you and I know we'll create some inspired entries for our books.
So, when are we starting? I think we should aim to ship our books either by August 1st or 15th. Ramires and Santiago are waiting for the moleskine books. Ramires should receive his around July 6 and Santiago should receive his the middle of July. So let's take a vote for first shipment of August 1 or 15? Leave a comment.
Are we having a theme? Only if you want one. Each artist has complete control over their book. If you want a theme in your book that would be fun! Totally up to you! ( just thought of a theme I might want for my book)
Our group has six members, so I think we should each plan to do 2-3 pages in each book (not 3-4 pages). I have also set up a mailing rotation (on the right). You will mail the book to the artist located below your name. We can be flexible with this, so if you think there is a better mailing order please say so. I tried to make it logical so shipping costs would be as minimal as possible.

So if you have your books, feel free to start them! Also, please email me your mailing address (don't post it here).

Welcome to moly_x_34!
This group, founded by Chris M.(USA), is an extension of the Moleskine Exchange. This blog will follow the adventure of a group of artists around the world, in a Japanese fold Moleskine sketchbook exchange.
Each artist will set off with a small Japanese (accordian) folded Moleskine. Creating a drawing, collage, or painting, then send on to the next artist. Each artist will draw on a couple of spreads (3-4 pages) then send it on to the next artist. When the artists book is filled, it will be returned to the owner with images created by artist around the world. Each artist has a month to make an entry. The outcome will be a pleasant and surprising adventure, as artists are encouraged to interact and merge their art with others.
The concept:
1. The artists start with the Japanese fold Moleskine - Name, address, email address written in book.
2. Each artist gets 1 month to make a sketchbook entry, and mail it to the next person. The order is listed to the right.
3. Each artist will do 3-4 pages each round.
4. Artists are encouraged to interact with other images in the book. Please be respectful.
5. When the book is full, when one side of the unfolded book is filled, the book will be sent back to its original owner. That artist may continue by buying a new book and sending it to the next person.
6. If a person decides not to continue, she will simply keep her book when it comes back to her. She should email all of the participants to say she is not going to continue. We will decide, then, if we want to find a new person.
7. Please communicate regularly via email. Let each person know that you have received/sent the book. The goal is to have a dialogue. Any comments and questions are welcome.
