MolyX 34 at the MCBA Show

Our talented group represented in the book of Carlos Chensio. It moved me to tears for the rare opportunity to see him live after being completed.

Farewells and Reunions?

Dear Friends,

The artwork created in this group has been amazing. I think the artwork is one of the best representations of what Moly-X is all about. Great people and great art. There have been a lot of starts, stops and slowness with this group. We started way back in June 2008. Almost 3 years ago! It's amazing that it's been that long! It has been an honor to work beside all of you.

That said, I think it's time to shake up the group. Three years is a long time to keep a common goal in this technology age and I think for some of us our goals have changed. Our group doesn't have to quit, but for some members it may be necessary. I will have no hard feelings if someone doesn't want to continue so please don't feel obligated.

Chensio - Spain
Ramires - Brazil
Santiago - Mexico
Yoda - Mexico
Samantha - Turkey

If you would like to continue on with the re-group, please respond in a comment to this post. Because I'm writing this post, I'll respond here. I WANT TO CONTINUE. And I will continue with any of you that want to participate. Let's start this with the original enthusiasm we first had. That sparkle of a new group and run with it.

If you are unsure if you would like to continue, I would urge you not to. We want enthusiasm from all members and a willingness to commit.

At this time, it is my understanding that Santiago will not continue and I hope he has received his book with all those wonderful entries.

So let's Go! Who's in and who's out! No hard feelings either way. Let's get back at it.

MCBA - International Moleskine Exchange Exhibit

Now it's official, I will in Minneapolis to the  MCBA  exhibit, I will be there between Feb 18 and 24 and I would love to see you there my dear friends from the group 34 :-)

Call for Entries

I am thrilled that moly_x will be exhibiting at Minnesota Center of Book Arts (MCBA), between mid-January through March 2011. It's coming up! This is a great venue, and this exhibit could mean some wonderful opportunities for other exhibitions around the country, and possible grants. This is a very receptive community.

I would like a few of these great books from this group. These books do not have to be completed. If you have a book right now, would you consider sending it to me. It will be out of circulation through March, but it will get some wonderful attention. I will guarantee it's safe return, or delivery to the next artist on the list.

MCBA does a great job of documenting their shows, so you will have a nice record. Whoever is in the book may add another credit to her/his resumé. We will continue to look for other similar venues for moly_x exhibitions. There are many book art institutions like this around the country, and there are many university book arts, and illustration programs.

I have dreamed of this exhibit since we started this little project.

 It seemed that we could retrieve our group again and I was extremely happy for this, but 15 days have passed since the last post here.What is happening now?Chris, did you  sent the Carlos book to  Marty?  ( To MCBA Exhibith) And where is my book? Did you sent it to Carlos?Carlos did you received my book? Did you sent the Santiago Book to me? (Do You have my correct address?)Lady Orlando, did you sent Chris book to him?We are a small group of talented and mature artists and we have no more excuses not to make things work like many other  MolyX groups. We just need to keep in touch.

Ramires book is done

Hi Friends, Here is my entry in Ramires book. It's very much a continuation of Samantha's entry. My entry was inspired by the movie "Ponyo" which is an animated film. Hope you like it. Here's a picture. Tomorrow I will post a hi-res scan to Flickr.

This is the last book I have. I would really like to know where the other books are. Please email me or comment here if you have a book. Thanks!

Chensio's Moly is done!

I just finished up my entry in Chensio's moly. By the looks of it, every has completed one entry in his book. YAY!

I haven't taken a Hi-Res scan yet, but here's a crude photo. I'll post the hi-res to flickr after I scan it tomorrow.
